Is there some kind of rule that you can't be in a pageant unless you have a crap name?

This one pageant that aired on TLC had girls named Sunshine, Journey, Baleigh, McKenzie, Carsten and the worst.. Kragen. Kragen is just about the ugliest name I can think of. It doesn't even remotely sound attractive.

Finley for a girl

Another celebrity has named his daughter Finley. It's a D-List celeb, but it still makes headlines. Daniel Baldwin and his wife Joanne named their daughter Finley Rae. Angie Harmon and her husband have a daughter named Finley Faith. The name Finley was never on the popularity charts for girls until celebs started using this name. When a celeb uses a name, it's destined to become popular unless it's something totally bizarre like Apple or Bandit. I hate seeing Finley on a girl. It's not feminine. It's not cute. It's definitely not unique. The name went up 200 places on the popularity charts in one year. If Finley becomes super popular for girls you can cross off any "Finn" names for boys. So please, anyone who is a fan of these names for boys don't let your friends and family name their daughters Finley. Don't forget to mention popularity. My name is not Jane!

I love how people try to bash my name when they comment on this blog. I've said many times that Jane isn't my name. I love the name Jane, but it's not my name. I also love my real name, but I am not putting it on this blog. It's a classic, biblical name. It's 100% feminine. It's the perfect type of name for a girl. Responses to some of the fan comments:

I am pretty sure my daughters name is on the list...I am not offended...We have completly different taste....JANE is probably the very last name on the planet I would pick. Also, being a kindergarten teacher I like when kids have different names...instead on having six Michelle's in the class.....However I am a little creeped out about how you got my daughters name and middle name combination. I would like to thank you....I am find lots of names for my second baby!

How old are the kids in your kindergarten class? Michelle is not a popular name for 5 year olds. Your class is probably full of kids named Madison, Mackenzie, Kaydence, Tyler, Jayden, Austyn, and Dakotah. I get most of the names from on line web nurseries where parents give their permission for the names and photos to be posted. I do not post last names or pictures. Unless the name is truly atrocious, like a He'ven'ly Ayn'gell Prin'Cess.. I doubt your child is the only one with that name. I see the same first and middle combinations over and over again.


I have two children with unusual names Kamea and Kinzyn and I get the most compliments on there names!!! People say what is her name or what is his name and I tell them and they are like awww that is a really cute name I like that!!!! yeah I would never name my kid something that someeone in the 50's 60's or 70's thats for sure I want my kid to know that I am talking to them in a crowd of people not yelling lisa or tim and 10 kids come running

People aren't going to tell you to your face how awful your kid's names are. That's what the internet is for. Who gives their kid's names from the 50's, 60's and 70's? If you yell out Lisa or Tim in a crowd you'd most likely see people in the 40s and older turning their heads. You can name your kid whatever you like, but don't post the name on the internet unless you want people to make fun of it.

As I was googling a birth record, this ridiculous site popped up. I only read this 1 blog as I have so many better things to do than read this. Who the hell cares how someone else chooses to spell their childs name or what they choose to name THEIR child. You must have way too much free time and some serious insecurities that you would spend so much time and effort in making fun of "names" haha. I'm sorry for you. I hope you can begin to get out of the house more, maybe exercise (something other than your fingers on the keyboard) and get a relationship, friendship... A LIFE!

Jamie Oliver is a chef from England who is best known as The Naked Chef. Jamie and his wife, Jools have 3 daughters. Poppy Honey(7), Daisy Boo(6) and a newborn daughter named Petal Blossom Rainbow. Daisy is a fine name. Boo? What the heck is Boo?Poppy makes me think more of someones Grandpa than a flower but it's not too bad. Honey is a good name for a stripper. Petal Blossom Rainbow sounds like a name an 8 year old would come up with for her new baby sister. Did it occur to them that Petal sounds like pedal and peddle? Blossom will always remind me of the TV series. Rainbow reminds me of Rainbow Brite. Speaking of 80's cartoons.. Petal Blossom Rainbow sounds like the name of a My little pony. I wonder what they would name a boy. I think Branch Treestump would work. Or maybe Rock Ocean Bay. Got any suggestions on a name for a 4th child for Jamie and Jools? Lets talk spelling!

Misspelled names are one of my biggest pet peeves. Ask someone why they chose to spell their child's name a certain way and you will get any number of reasons. "Madyson is so unique compared to Madison. It makes her stand out." "Codee looks so feminine!" "Changing the -son ending to syn, sin, or sen makes it feminine." "We spelled Kyle, Cyle because all of our names start with "C". I have seriously witnessed people making similar claims on various internet baby naming forums. There is no reasoning with people who have this type of mentality. Here are some of my most hated misspellings..

Unnecessary letters:
Jaxxon/Jaxsen/(One "X" will suffice. You don't need an "X" and "S" because the "X" replaces cks)

Maddison, Addisson, Maxx , Robb etc

Blayke, Jaycob, Jayson, Brayden, Grayce , Shayne, Zoey(We know how to pronounce it. Stop making yourself look illiterate.)
