Fan Mail Time!

Who made it a rule or law on how someone is suppose to spell their childs name? Tell me where that is in the Constitution...& what's so wrong with being creative...blog about that low-life!
Kimberlee

Dear Clueless Kimberlee,

Blogs are places where people can express their opinion on any topic they choose. It's called free speech. Look it up.

As I was googling a birth record, this ridiculous site popped up. I only read this 1 blog as I have so many better things to do than read this. Who the hell cares how someone else chooses to spell their childs name or what they choose to name THEIR child. You must have way too much free time and some serious insecurities that you would spend so much time and effort in making fun of "names" haha. I'm sorry for you. I hope you can begin to get out of the house more, maybe exercise (something other than your fingers on the keyboard) and get a relationship, friendship... A LIFE!

Is that the best you can do? I've heard it all before. Yes, I have a life. I'm not dead. I'm sitting here typing to you. I am very secure with myself. Thanks for your concern though. I don't spend that much time and effort on this site. I actually should update it more often. Thanks again for your concern. You guys are so thoughtful! Why do you people who hate my blog always assume that I don't exercise? Feeling guilty or something? LOL I biked 12 miles today. What did you do? I have relationships/friendships. All my friends and family love my blog. ;)

Khaylee..
I must admit some of the names & spellings are ridiculous that you have posted but who gave you permission to post other people's children's names on this site under the title THE BAD BABY NAMES HALL OF SHAME...bitch, who are you? Obviously "A NOBODY"...Seriously are you even able to have children? Is that why you have so much time on your hands to do something like this? Go get a job if you are that bored and miserable with yourself! How about you blog about unfit mothers, parents who are abusive and/or neglectful not what someone has chosen to name their child! There are better things to do and more worse situations to be concerned about than baby names! Be an ADULT and get a LIFE!&& I dare you to post this LAME BORED ASS BITCH! Plus why don't you identify yourself??? Your name must be so WACK & you must be sooooo insecure with yourself...you must've been bullied in school and that's why you have nothing better to do than make fun of baby names, DIE SLOW SILLY BITCH

And you think I have problems, Khaylee? Wow. Someone missed her meds this morning.

THIS GOES TO SHOW THAT U DONT HAVE A LIFE. WHO ARE U TO SAY THAT MY CHILDRENS NAMES ARE AWFUL. WHATS AWFUL IS THAT U DONT HAVE A LIFE OF YOUR OWN SO U CHOSE TO PICK ON NAMES OF LITTLE KIDS. JUST BECAUSE WE DIDNT NAME OUR CHILDREN TOM, JOHN, SALLY, OR AMANDA DOESNT MEAN THAT THEY DONT DESERVE THE SAME RESPECT. SO U JUST SIT AROUND LOOKING THROUGH NURSERY PAGES TO SEE PEOPLES KIDS NAMES, SHAME ON YOU. MAYBE WE NEED TO BE WATCHING YOU BEFORE OUR CHILDREN END UP KIDNAPPED BY THE LOSER WITH NO LIFE THAT THINKS THEY CAN SAW WHATS A GOOD NAME AND WHATS A BAD ONE. TO ME ALL THESE COMMON NAMES ARE AWFUL. FROM KENISHIA....... THE PARENT OF TA'QUIRRA, SHANSHATARA, AND SHAUNSHAKIRA. KEEP MY CHILDRENS NAMES OFF OF YOUR SILLY CRAP BECAUSE THEY STILL HAVE RIGHTS AND I DIDNT GIVE YOU PERMISSION.

THIS IS SO FUNNY! SHE TOLD ME NOT TO TALK ABOUT HER KIDS NAMES BUT SHE TOLD ME WHAT THEY ARE. LOL LOL LOL

I love when people try to insult me by saying that I must have no life or I need to get out and maybe exercise. If you hate this blog so much you shouldn't waste your previous time on here. This blog is not my life. It's a part of my life. I love to exercise. I biked 10 miles today. How about you? As for fugly names ... here are a few:

Ealexus (Sounds like an eco automobile)
Riot(This one actually shocked me bit. )
Zaibree(UGGO!)
Gwenavire(Nice name. Stupid spelling)
Chantz(I absolutely hate spellings like this)
Zailor (Like Sailor only dumber)
Exon(WTH?)

A celebrity birth

Jamie Oliver is a chef from England who is best known as The Naked Chef. Jamie and his wife, Jools have 3 daughters. Poppy Honey(7), Daisy Boo(6) and a newborn daughter named Petal Blossom Rainbow. Daisy is a fine name. Boo? What the heck is Boo?Poppy makes me think more of someones Grandpa than a flower but it's not too bad. Honey is a good name for a stripper. Petal Blossom Rainbow sounds like a name an 8 year old would come up with for her new baby sister. Did it occur to them that Petal sounds like pedal and peddle? Blossom will always remind me of the TV series. Rainbow reminds me of Rainbow Brite. Speaking of 80's cartoons.. Petal Blossom Rainbow sounds like the name of a My little pony. I wonder what they would name a boy. I think Branch Treestump would work. Or maybe Rock Ocean Bay. Got any suggestions on a name for a 4th child for Jamie and Jools? Leave your suggestions in the comments section.

Lets talk spelling!

Misspelled names are one of my biggest pet peeves. Ask someone why they chose to spell their child's name a certain way and you will get any number of reasons. "Madyson is so unique compared to Madison. It makes her stand out." "Codee looks so feminine!" "Changing the -son ending to syn, sin, or sen makes it feminine." "We spelled Kyle, Cyle because all of our names start with "C". I have seriously witnessed people making similar claims on various internet baby naming forums. There is no reasoning with people who have this type of mentality. Here are some of my most hated misspellings..

Unnecessary letters:
Jaxxon/Jaxsen/(One "X" will suffice. You don't need an "X" and "S" because the "X" replaces cks)

Maddison, Addisson, Maxx , Robb etc

Blayke, Jaycob, Jayson, Brayden, Grayce , Shayne, Zoey(We know how to pronounce it. Stop making yourself look illiterate.)

Not enough letters:
Bret, Mat, Nicol, Ema, Clair, Mathew, Noa, Tod etc

Spellings that don't make sense ...
Kalob(Caleb)
Alivia(It's not "A", it's "O" or ah)
Tra(Supposedly, it's pronounced like Trey)
Dontra(Supposed to be DON tray)
Carlye(Supposed to be Carly)

Male names that are spelled to look "feminine"
Anything that ends in son changed to sin, syn, sen etc

Girls with boy names

People always ask me why I have a name like Dylan or Taylor on this blog. If you see a name like this that appears to be normal, it was probably a girl's name. I can't even begin to describe how much I hate when girls are given male names. I see nothing wrong with a name like Dylan or Taylor for a boy, but not for girls. People always give lame excuses as to why they want to name their daughter Carson or James. (Yes, people are naming girls James these days) Common excuses are: It's a "family" name. It sounds "girly" to me. Surnames are "unisex". A big LMAO goes out to that one. (FYI, surnames are male and many have male meanings like son of. There are exceptions like Jane but that's another story) Another common excuse that people give is that they want their daughter to have a unique name. Hello? If boys and girls have the same name it's actually more popular than using an uncommon female name like Iris or Frances. Some women claim that they would use a "unisex" or female name on a boy or a girl but they never do. They would name their daughter Michael in a second but they would never name their son Madison. And my personal favorite.. "I want my daughter to have a strong name." AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! The feminist inside of me dies a little every time I hear that line. There are so many beautiful, strong, FEMALE names out there. There is no need to give your daughters male names. If you truly want your daughter to have a unique and strong name, go with an underused female name like Veronica, Portia, Matilda, or even Anne. Your daughter will not be one of several boys and girls with the same name. She will most likely be the only little Sylvia in her entire school. She will have a name that is timeless. She will not be stuck wearing an outdated name for her entire life. If you absolutely must call your daughter Joey, Charlie, Sam or Alex. Name her Josephine, Charlotte, Samantha or Alexandra. You can still use the nicknames and you daughter will have a dignified, feminine name that will never embarrass her.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm all for people using names that represent their background, but lets be real... What is with people name their kids Ireland? Americans who have very little Irish blood love to use Irish surnames for girls like Murphy, Reagan, Riley, Kennedy etc I'm not saying you have to be Irish to name your child Ryan or Siobhan but please stop using surnames and faux names for your children. Don't go around claiming to be proud to be Irish and then giving your child a hideous name like Irelynn which a real person from Ireland would never use.

Celebrity baby names

We all know that celebs have been giving their kids ridiculous names for years. Frank Zappa was one of the first celebs to give his children wacky names. His kids are Diva, Moon Unit, Dweezil, and Ahmet. Ahmet is actually a real name. It's the Turkish form of Ahmad. I bet he feels lucky. Bob Geldof and Paul Yates named their kids Peaches Honeyblossom Michelle Charlotte Angel Vanessa(That's one child), Fifi Trixiebelle and Pixie. Paula also had a daughter with Michael Hutchence named Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily. John Mellencamp and his wife, Elaine have two sons named Hud and Speck. John alson has two daughters from a previous marriage named Teddi Jo and Justice. This trend is still going strong today. Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow have a daughter named Apple. Nicolas Cage has a son named Kal-El. Pete and Ashlee Wentz have a son named Bronx Mowgli. I could go on forever.. The interesting/sad thing is that non-celeb parents are influenced by celebrity baby naming trends and the celebrity world in general. The name Miley was never on the baby name charts until 2007 when it broke onto the charts at #278 out around 1,000 names. It will be fun to see how this name does for 2008 when the naming stats are released some time in May. Miley's actual birth name was Destiny Hope. I say was because she legally changed it to Miley Ray Cyrus last year. Miley came from a nickname her father called her. (Smiley) It got shortened to Miley and the name stuck. I can't imagine naming my child after some other child's nickname. What is wrong with people? Don't these parents realize how embarrassed their daughters are going to be in the future when they realized they were named for a teen Disney star? It wouldn't be a bad thing if it was a common name like an Ella or Penelope. One of the problems with names like these is that they date the child to one time period. Everyone knows how old a woman named Shirley likely is. The same thing will happen to all the little girls named Miley when they get older. They will be stuck with a ridiculous fad name. It's like being forced to wear the same hairstyle or trend for your entire life. Can you picture yourself wearing skinny jeans for life?

Pageant Names

Have you ever noticed that the children in child beauty pageants have bad names? I think some of these parents view their children as "stars" so they give them "unique" aka crappy names. I heard a real winner during an episode of WE's Little Miss Perfect. A little girl in the pageant was named Clayson Cody. First and middle name. Can I get a big WTH? There is a similar show on TLC called Toddlers and Tiaras. Both shows featured children with unsual names so I did a google search and found other "unique" names. Disclaimer: I am in no way judging the children, the parents or the pageant. I'm only commenting on the names.

Random names from various pageants I found from a google search:

A new phenomenon is occurring in the world of baby naming. Mother's are naming their daughters after the baby's Father. What's wrong with this you ask? Ask little Wil'ayla who was named for her Dad, Will. I can't understand why a person would do this to a child. Why not name her Willa?

Jerahmi
(I am guessing the parents went with this spelling to avoid having idiots call their child "Germy". The parents should have stuck with the original spelling. It's not that difficult to correct people on pronunciation. It's certainly better than your child going through life with a ridiculously spelled name.)

Meshawn(Her Dad is Shawn)
(I detest when baby girls are given hideous, invented names in honor of their Fathers. It's especially annoying when there is a legit female form of a name. I hate the spelling of Shawn, but Shawna would have been a better choice than Meshawn.)

Berklee
(Oh look..She's been given an ugly surname/misspelled college name. How nice.)
McCartney
(After Sir Paul, I assume. What is there to hate about this name?hmm? Lets see. First off, it's a surname/male name. Second, it's incredibly selfish and juvenile to name your child after one of your musical icons. What if she grows up to hate their music? She's going to endure a lifetime of jokes. It's cruel to give a child a name like this.)

Joplyn
(Another baby named after a musical icon or after a tiny Midwestern town? Either way it sucks!)

Taycen
(I don't know what they were going for ,but they failed.)
Zaylan
(Want an uncommon name that starts with "Z" and isn't made it? Go with Zenon. It's ZEN un not ZEE non. )

Blake
(I can see this one shooting up the charts thanks to Gossip Girl star, Blake Lively. If originality is what they were going for, they missed it by a mile. Some one syllable female names they could have gone with.. Claire, Faith, Mae, Eve)

Sarenity
(There is nothing serene about this name)

Stetson
(Named for a hat and cheap cologne. Way to go, parents!)

Octane
(Siblings with no doubt be named Fuel and Diesel)
Shylee
(She probably will become shy because the constant attention her name will no doubt attract.)

Cayden
(Of all the "ayden" names this one is my least favorite. It's going to be the defining name of this generation. Word of advice. This name is not unique. It is being used for boys and girls. It has dozens of spelling variations. If you combine the stats it would probably be in the top 5 for boys and girls. Avoid it at all costs. Alternate choices for girls: Corinne for a girl Keaton for a boy)
RandiLynn
(They could have gone with a respectable name like Miranda Lynn and called her RandiLynn)

Traycen
(Tracing what? Shapes? )

Emsley
(Sounds like an English butler from an old movie)

Italy
(This child is going to be so humiliated when she studies geography in school or if she ever travels abroad.)

Paeyton
(The 90's called, they want their crappy names back. They also said to stop misspelling them and using them for girls.)

Tayden
(Attack of the "Ayden" names!)
Steele
(I wonder if they realized this name sounds exactly like steal)

Chevelle
(Another poor child named after one of her parent's hobbies or treasured possession)

Myley
Mylee
(These girls are going to be so embarrassed in about 10 years)

Persefoni
(This name is already unusual. Why misspell it?)

Timber
(Way too easy .)

Zaylie
(Wow, this one is like so unique because it's just like Kaylie only with a "Z".)

J'azmin
(Apostrophes are not decoration!)

T'Kobi
(Well, he can always go by Kobi and be mistaken for a girl.)

Legend
(Such a conceited name. Way too much to live up to.)

Force
(I hope he isn't meek and mild.)

Heavean'Leigh
(I want someone to try to defend this name to me.)
Dynisty
(Another egotiscal, too much to live up to, misspelled, train-wreck of a name.)
Shatily'a
(The first four letters are just wrong.)

Quincie
Quincey
(Not original. Not cute. How about Nancy? Similar, uncommon and actually female.)

Syrene
(Serene or a siren? lol)

Eufrocina
(I don't care if this one is legit. It's UGLY!)

Ty'n
(Tyne? Tiny? Tying?)

Ja'Harvey
(I don't understand the trend of adding a Ja, La, Da, or whatever to the front of a normal name. Why ? It's not like anyone is using Harvey these days. Just go with Harvey. )

K'Leb
(I want to k'ick the parents in the head for destroying a nice biblical name)

Rycen
(What is this crap? How about Ronan or Roman? )

Revelee
(I don't know what to say)

Jerusalem
(I hope they don't call her Salem. :/ )

Bradyn
(Can you imagine a woman with this name who isn't a porn star or stripper?)

Peylynn
(So peynful)

J'aeden
(A misspelled, apostrophe-decorated piece of crap name)

Maisyn Marie
(This is not cute.)

Brylie Makinsey
(eww! )
Lyndon Grace
(Lyndon is not a nice name for a girl. )

Serinity Destiny
(It's like a 4 yr chose her Mom's pole, I mean stage name.)

Taelyr Maddison
(A couple of misspelled 90s names on a girl. This one drips of originality. )

Mavery Jayne
(Like Avery but worse. Jayne looks layme.)
Eastyn JoAnn
(It's a good thing she has the "Ann" or else she would always be mistaken for a boy.)
Tailey Daniyelle
(Like Kailey but dumber. Daniyelle says DAN eee yelle not DAN yell)

Livingston Renee
(Another butler name. This one is a boy. Yes, a boy with a middle name of Renee. Rene is great for a boy. Renee is not.)

Kaedynce Leigh
(Like Kayden but worse. I wonder if her parents know that cadence is a word.)

Season Rhein
(Sounds like a command or a feminine hygiene product.)
Zayne Elyse
(Why do people think random "y's" in a name makes it feminine? Does is work with classic boy names like Phyllyp or Naythan?)

Paislee Rachelle
( Paisley is an ugly fabric. Is it for Brad Paisley? I like him too, but lets be real. Paisley is not a cute name!)

Kynnadee Raylayne
(Kennedy is an ugly name for a girl even before the spelling gets contorted. Raylayne is sad. Give her at least one name she can live with.)
Rowan Campbell
(What a handsome name for a BOY!)

Nicholette Nicole(Her Dad is Nicholas.)
(Why didn't just name her Nicole Nicole or Nicholette Nicholette? UGH!)

Kamaidren Aniyah-Ka'Nae
(K'what?)

Wulfgang Nova Dominic
(Well..Dominic is a nice name)

Diamond Unique-Kiley
(It's sad when Kiley is the best name.)

fan mail

I have been receiving some lovely letters from my fans so I thought I would post some here with my replies..

The ignorance of your bad name list is ridiculous, just because you do not know the meaning within a name doesn’t make it a bad name of shame. If you knew anything about the world language or different cultures then you would understand the significance in a name. Plain names or one syllables names without significance Jean, are just blends. However, Reading the name Jacquillyone from left to right it means the first son of God. Break it into pieces. You get English, Hebrew, latin, and Greek. Words within a name makes it a beautiful name and much thought was put into it. Simple less complicated names means less thought.

How ridiculous. I could string together a bunch of letters from different languages and claim that it means beautiful, amazing star child but that doesn't make it so. LOL Jacqueline is simply a French feminine form of Jacques. Jacques is the French form of Jacob and James so Jacqueline does share the same meaning of Jacob and James. Jacob means holder of the heel or the more common, supplanter. The bible states that Jacob was born holding his twin brother Esau's heel hence the meaning. The good names have been around for hundreds of years, since the begining of time. There is no need to try to improve upon these names or create new names. If Jacqueline isn't good enough, go with something else. Your child with thank you.

Do you have children?? and what are their names so that maybe they can be posted on your so called hall of shame. Its makes no since for you to start something so stupid. I dont see any celebrity baby names. Why is that? its none of your business what we call our kids
Why is it that everyone who gives their kids a crap name throws this line at me? Whether or not I have children is my own business. People don't need to have children in order to have an opinion on names. Since you asked, here is the latest celebrity baby name. Bronx Mowgli. Can I get a big LOL at that one?

I just happen to run across this website and i think its stupid and you should get a life. Some people may name their kids names that you don't approve of but do you have kids and what stupid names did you give them "Jane"?
Yes, I have 5 kids and they're all named Jane. I even have 3 sons named Jane.

Do you not have anything better to do with your life? Apparently not. Why don't you do something productive like volunteer instead of spreading hate? Embrace diversity. Maybe you'll learn something. Why do you care what anyone is named? Does it affect your life? How? I doubt if hearing a baby name that you don't like will actually make any kind of difference to your world.
Get a life.
I think it's hateful to give kids horrible names. There is nothing diverse about saddling children with names that will do nothing but cause them grief. I am all for different names as long as they are legit. Portia is great. Pailylynn is not. See the difference? BTW, who says I don't volunteer? Why don't you do something productive instead of worrying about how I spend my time?
